=====================
Hey Ruth!
->
-> -> And worth trying one of these days. Just have to figure out when.
->
-> HN> Most things are worth trying often more than once!
->
-> And some aren't worth trying at all. For instance, at this stage of my
-> life, I wouldn't want to try bungee jumping. (G)
->
Oh I WANT to give it a go...I really do, but I'm afraid with my back being
what it is, it would not be very wise of me to give it a try....and I tend
to listen to my back....or Anne...one of em will stop me I'm sure!

-> -> HN> Hmmm the only alternative I have for pork is ............more
-> ->  HN> PORK!!^-^
->
-> -> Not always the case here.
->
-> HN> Poor Steve will come around eventually!
->
-> Key word there is eventually. It's about like watching a snail do a
-> marathon. (G)
->
But he lets you have as much as you want though right?

-> -> HN> Anne likes red rice the best, even better than brown! Or did you
->  HN> mean
-> -> HN> redbeans and rice? The only rice we have in the pantry right now
is
->
-> -> I mean the old southern style red rice cookedwith sausage, onion,
bell
-> -> pepper, tomato, etc. I first had it about 10 years ago in Charleston
-> -> french fries or such like. I have some red rice in the fridge right
now
->
-> HN> I had completely forgotten that "red" rice! My mom always called it
-> HN> tomato rice (grin) or spanish rice. What Anne likes is a rice that
is
->
-> What I call "spanish" rice has some of the same stuff but usually made
-> with ground beef (or turkey) instead of sausage. Again, something my
-> mom never made but I've done an improv version from time to time.
->
not much difference between the two versions, but it's not one that I have
cooked in a long time!

-> HN> red before it's cooked a whole grained rice that is much like brown
-> HN> rice in texture but has a bit more of a nutty flavor that Anne
likes
->
-> That's what's in the fridge now.
->
-> HN> best! Particularly with peanut sauce (which I suspect you would NOT
->  HN> prefer on yours! )
->
-> Probably not but there are other things I can dress it up with.
->
I like bits of barbequed pork, or shredded chicken, stirfried veggies etc.

-> -> HN> red rice. Key lime pie is my weakness....I do soooooo love
it...but
-> -> HN> hate it when it's not done well...and it seldom IS done well.
-> ->  HN> Sigh....one of those holy grail things I guess (grin)
->
-> -> I guess so. This was a major dud; the rest of the meal was pretty
good.
-> -> Steve wasn't sure about where he wanted to go so I suggested this
place;
-> -> afterward, he said that it was just what he'd been hungry for but
didn't
-> -> realise itbefore supper.
->
-> HN> Last night we had an appt with Anne's financial advisor for her
-> HN> retirement funds...and so we went out to a local pizza place and
had a
-> HN> plain cheese pizza, I wasn't really in the mood for pizza till I
had
-> HN> that first bite...boy did it hit the bingo spot!
->
-> Surprising for a plain cheese pizza or was it a gourmet cheese?
->
Nope just a plain old cheese pizza...well made though and Anne's mom who
was out this summer thought it was "almost" as good as she gets in New York
pizzaria's...It's hand thrown and cooked in a woodfired oven...and quite
expensive too $17 for a 16 inch cheese pizza!

-> -> And we're back in the mid 80s with good chance of rain most every day
-> -> thru the week end. Blue skies right now but lots of clouds in them.
->  HN> ->
-> HN> Yesterday 73 degrees sunshine and no breeze, today 64 cloudy and
->  HN> slight breeze...rain by evening
->
-> We had rain yesterday but caught a dry spot today between storms. It's
-> only in the low 70s--not quite cool enough for a jacket but a long
-> sleeved shirt felt good when I went out (cuffs were rolled about 2
-> turns). Beginning to feel like late October. (G)
->
This morning, 34 degrees, clear, BIG harvest moon setting just gorgeous!
I'd not call low 70's cool, or long sleeve weather (grin)...low 50's is
that for me. Most of the '60's are warm enough for me to be in t-shirt and
shorts.
chat with you soon
