In April, my wife and I were waiting at Hartsfeld-Jackson for my friend, Kaare,
to arrive from Denmark.  We decided to take a shortcut through the main
concourse and as we were, we saw a lot of soldiers, sailors and airmen in
uniform milling about.  Suddenly, we heard someone bark an order (to other
people, it sounded like someone yelling, but for us veterans, we know when
someone shouts and order :) and they all filtered into a back room.

A few minutes later (I'm assuming after a formation), they came marching out
single file.  As they began to walk through, a few people stood up and began
applauding.  It was infectious as soon the entire concourse (including me and
Maura) were applauding our men and women in uniform.  They all smiled as they
marched by.

I only hope that our show of appreciation made them smile and think that
contrary to what people may think that there are some of us out there that are
proud of them for serving our country.  I knew full well where they were
heading to and I only hope that all of those that left that day will make it
back home after their tour of duty is over.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Sunday Brunch Frittata
 Categories: Breakfast, Italian, Mushrooms, Eggs, Cheese
      Yield: 2 Servings
 
      3 tb Vegetable oil
      1 md Yellow onion, thinly sliced
      1 md Sweet green pepper, cored,
           -seeded, and diced
      2 md Sized potatoes, peeled and
           Thinly sliced
      8 oz Mushrooms, thinly sliced
      4 lg Eggs
    1/2 c  Whole or low fat milk
    1/3 c  Grated parmesan or shredded
           -Fruyere cheese
    1/2 ts Each:  salt and black pepper
    1/2 c  Sour cream or
           -plain low fat yogurt
    1/4 c  Finely chopped sweet pepper
           -(red, green, or mixed)
 
  Preheat the broiler, and set the rack 4 inches from the heat.  Heat 1
  tbsp of the oil in a 12 inch ovenproof skillet over moderate heat for
  1 minute. Add the onion, green ppepper, and potatoes, cover, and
  cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.  Add the mushrooms,
  cover, and cook, stirring occasionally for 4 minutes, or until the
  potatoes are tender. Remove the cover, raise the heat to moderately
  high, and cook, stirring 1 minutes more or until all the liquid
  evaporates.
  
  In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, all but 2 tbsp of the
  cheese, and the salt and black pepper, then stir in the vegetable
  mixture. Add the remaining 2 tbsp of oil to the skillet and heat over
  moderately high heat for 1 minutes. Add the egg and vegetable
  mixture, reduce the heat to moderately low, and cook, uncovered, for
  8-10 minutes or until just set. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  Transfer the skillet to the broiler and broil for 1-2 minutes or
  until lightly golden. Top with the sour cream and sweet pepper.
