That is quite so, but what I objected to here was the cruelty of
the humor of the article.

Oddly, I'd use more bacon on a burger than on a BLT, as
on the burger the stuff would have to compete with beef
for flavor, whereas on a BLT the lettuce is a pushover.

I don't care what most USA folks think! Most USA folks tend to
vote in the wrong direction, eat bad food, and so on. South,
economically, is pretty much as I described. But to northerners,
south tends to be Pennsylvania on down; to southerners, north
tends to be North Carolina on up!

Salzburger Nockerl
cat: dessert
serves: 4

2 lg egg yolks
1 ts vanilla extract
1/2 ts grated lemon peel
1 Tb all-purpose flour
4 lg egg whites
1 pn salt
2 Tb granulated sugar
 confectioners' sugar for dusting

Preheat the oven to 350. Grease 1 medium souffle dish.

Mix egg yolks with a fork, adding vanilla and lemon peel.
Sprinkle the flour over the mixture. Set aside.

In another bowl, beat the egg whites with salt until stiff.
Slowly add sugar and beat until the mixture forms soft peaks.

Fold the flour into the yolk mixture, then fold the yolks
into the egg whites. Do not over fold.

Using a spoon or spatula, make three large mounds of mixture
in the souffle dish. Bake in the middle of the oven for 10-14
min (should be lightly browned around the edges, soft inside).

Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and serve immediately.
