I did NOT use Wikipedia and seldom do.

Of course this whole thread began as an attempt to point up the 
absurdities of various Food Kop Political Correctness campaigns. 
Sometimes I am too subtle for my own good.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Pumpkin Pie Crumble Cake
 Categories: Squash, Cakes, Desserts
      Yield: 18 servings
 
           Vegetable shortening
           All-purpose flour
 18 1/4 oz Pkg yellow cake mix
    1/2 c  Butter; at room temp plus
    1/4 c  Butter; chilled
      4 lg Eggs, divided
      2 cn (15-oz ea) pumpkin
      5 oz Cn evaporated milk
  1 1/4 c  Granulated white sugar;
           -divided
      2 ts Ground cinnamon
      1 c  Chopped pecans
      4 c  Lightly sweetened whipped
           Cream
 
  Lightly grease a 13-by-9-inch baking pan with shortening,
  then dust with flour. Shake out excess flour. Preheat the
  oven to 350 degrees. Measure out 1 cup of the cake mix;
  reserve for the topping.
  
  To make the crust, combine the remaining cake mix, room-
  temperature butter or margarine and 1 egg in a large
  mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed
  until well combined, 1 minute. Using your fingertips,
  press the crust over the bottom of the prepared pan so
  that it touches the sides of the pan.
  
  For the filling, place the pumpkin, evaporated milk, 1
  cup sugar, the remaining 3 eggs and cinnamon in the large
  mixing bowl used to prepare the crust. With the same
  beaters (no need to clean either), blend on low speed
  until combined, 30 seconds. Increase the mixer speed to
  medium and beat until the mixture lightens in color and
  texture, 1 to 2 minutes more. Pour the filling over the
  crust, spreading the filling to the sides of the pan with
  a rubber spatula.
  
  For the topping, place the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, the
  chilled butter and the reserved 1 cup cake mix in a clean
  medium mixing bowl. Rinse and dry the beaters. Beat on
  low speed until just combined and crumbly, 30 seconds to
  one minute. Stir in the pecans by hand. Use your fingers
  to thoroughly knead the pecans into the topping mixture.
  Distribute the topping evenly over the filling. Place the
  pan on the center oven rack.
  
  Bake until the center no longer jiggles when you shake the
  pan and the pecans on top have browned, 70 to 75 minutes.
  Let cool on a wire rack for 20 minutes. Slice the cake
  into squares; pass the whipped cream to spoon on top.
  (Store this cake without the whipped cream on it, covered
  in aluminum foil or plastic wrap, in the refrigerator for
  up to 1 week.)
