Hi Carol,

 > CS> I am so far behind! I am sure you are settled now and unpacking the

 > We've been in the house since May 1--got our HHG delivered on that day.
 > We're still unpacking; well, most of the boxes have been opened but

CS> There is a difference between us. I never had family to mail stuff to
CS> really. Older sibs and such.

Wait a few years and you may be sending stuff to Charlotte. Then, too,
you're in your permanent home. We're only here for 3 years, just like a
military (normal) assignment. To make room for everything, we had to
downsize. Some stuff was going to the girls anyway; it's just getting
there sooner, rather than later.

 > Rachel and her family went camping this week end so one thing I'm

 CS> (snip)

 CS> Neat device!

It is; we talked with her on Monday and she said that she almost bought
one. But, she didn't and will be glad to have the one she used as a
kid. There will be odds and ends of other cooking items in the box as
well. The camping trip was a series of minor incidents that went wrong
(took longer to get to the camp ground than thought, set up in rain,
sick child, etc) but nothing major. It was enough tho that they only
stayed one night instead of the planned two but plan to go out again.
Sarah was the one that enjoyed it the most--but she's not quite 8
months old. (G)

 > CS> In our case, Don's finishing off the last bit of sanding on a lovely

 > Sounds pretty--and well worth the work Don is puting into it.

CS> It's finished now and in the sunroom. Charlotte and i did help by
CS> hand-sanding 3 of the legs pretty much to finished. Don touched them
CS> up only slightly but did most of the rest of the work.

A family project makes it that much nicer a piece.

CS> BTW, this could be used as a smaller japanese eating table. It's just
CS> about right. 15.5 tall, 29.5 wide and 48 long. Easily would suit a
 CS> family of 4.

But getting up from the floor would be a challenge for some of us. I've
been sitting on the floor as I sort thru boxes of paperwork. Getting
back on my feet has been quite the job sometimes, especially if I'm
hemmed in by boxes or stacks of sorted stuff.

 > CS> Don's now happy with a few projects. Minor repairs needed to the
 > CS> rocking chair (it's 100 years or so old) then a good bath in murphy
 > CS> soap and it may just need a good wax job after that. Have to replace

 > Nice to have a handy man around the house, isn't it? (G)

CS> Hehe hobby of both of ours but my work hours have me unable to play as
CS> much withe the new pieces. I promised to show him how to murhpy oil
CS> clean the side-by-side next weekend. Closer look shows some will need
CS> sanding and a stain match but they are removable inner shelves so a
CS> perfect match wont be notable if a bit off.

It'll keep you off the streets at night. (G)
