=====================
Hi Ruth,

-> Made it easier for my mom to divide it and have them cleaned & restrung
-> at the time she inherited it (and a number of other pieces).

 RH> This is true. My sister and I divvied up some of the family jewelry a
 RH> few years back. I didn't care too much who got what, since my niece
 RH> is going to end up with all of it anyway.

I've got that and one other piece, more to come. I know my mom and her 2
sisters divided it up but mom is the only one with kids so we should get
it all eventually. Don't know how much will go to my brothers; I think
most all will go to me & my sisters.

-> RH> I'm into wild, wacky, weird, strange... you name it. Some pretty
->  RH> stuff too.

-> Some of my clothes are a bit out of place for the southeast but get worn
-> anyway. A mu'umu'u is rather comfortable Sunday go to church wear when
-> temps are hot & sticky. Then when it's cooler, a western style skirt,

 RH> I can imagine. Hawaiian formalwear would be.

Some are very formal (I've got one), others are more casual--if you
spill poi on them at a luau, no problem.

-> vest (and/or jacket) with boots are comfortable--all of the above are in
-> my wardrobe, made by me. One older lady in our church in Savannah used
-> to tease me about coming over and stealing my wardrobe.

 RH> My favorite skirt is also the favorite of a friend's three year-old;
 RH> it's bright screaming red velveteen with a big floral print. It
 RH> started life as an early 70s maxi wrap skirt.

Not my style; most of my stuff is more solid, some prints but most of
them are summer tops. My clothes are more of the classic styles, but
with some ethnic touches here & there.

->  RH> Where's the bathroom?

-> ?Donde esta la cuarto de ban~o (or toilette)?

 RH> That would be one of them.

A very useful one. I can also order a meal. I can do it in German too.
(G)

-> RH> These days Chinese joints are everywhere.

-> Seems to be so. This one has been going for I think at least 10 or more
-> years. It's in the old post office building--a bit of a disconnect the
-> first time I went there.

 RH> At least someone found a use for the old building instead of turning
 RH> it into a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Not enough room for a Wal-Mart in that location It's down town, too
many other buildings around it would have to come down for a W-M to go
up.  I don't think the town would let one go up anywhere near them;
there's one 25 miles away which is just fine as far as most of them are
concerned. But, the Chinese place is well liked by both the locals and
tourists.  Decent food too.

-> Your relative, not mine. We got a sweet home made one from Robert
-> today.

 RH> Now that's the good kind. I didn't make my own this year, but did do
 RH> the original design. One of the photo websites printed them up.

So we saw, and tried to figure out what the design is. If all goes
well, our mail out will hit the post office Tuesday.

-> RH> It goes in spurts for me. I'll be glued to the site for a day or

-> I've got other things to do--finish a dress for Sarah, read a book
-> before the Israel trip, hem some pants before the trip, etc, etc, etc.

 RH> Me too. Finish one baby quilt, then finish the next one. Run up a
 RH> bigger one for a friend who doesn't know it's coming.

Dress & pantaloons are done except for a bit of hand work. That should
take about an hour (give or take) tomorrow.

-> Then don't do it. I had to do a quick job of marking a hem last week; I
-> didn't have the luxury of the time I usually do, nor did I have my
-> tools. But, it turned out perfect according to the young lady who
-> needed the job done. Sometimes I get so caught up in a sewing project
-> that I forget to get something out for supper. Having a freezer of quick
-> (home made) meals and a microwave in which to thaw/heat them helps in
-> times like that.

 RH> That and having a second cook.

Very true; he has helped out in that regard quite often.

-> RH> fiberglass in the attic.

-> I doubt we've got that much. We've got a good chance of snow tomorrow
-> and Saturday. Definately bundle up weather.

 RH> It's snowing outside as we speak - probably 10 inches when it's done.

We had about an inch Friday night before it warmed up just enough to
rain. Then we had flurries yesterday.

Catch you later,
Ruth
