Well, yeah ... what did they think was going to happen when the bacon grease
leaked out the foil and set the kitchen on fire? Besides ReddiWip's "wipped
creem" pretty much sucks - why would one think their Reddi Bacon would be any
different?

Bastard Spawn of Pop Tarts!!!

Not every toaster food product has been as successful as Pop Tarts. Here are
some that didn't make it:

Downyflake Toaster Eggs. It was just too strange an idea.

ReddiWip's Reddi Bacon. Bacon grease tended to leak, creating a fire hazard.

Toaster Chicken Patties. Different grease, same fire hazard.

Electric French Fries. According to one critic, the toast-shaped slab of
potatoes "looked like a picket fence, tasted like a picket fence."

And one that seems to have gained a niche ...

"Toaster Breaks" Pizza - What with all the failed toaster foods of the past,
you'd think that corporate America would be toaster-shy. Especially considering
how much easier it is just to make a microwave food. Lately, though, the "Hot
Pockets" company has been heavily advertising a product called "Toaster
Breaks," featuring various pizza combinations that can be taken out of the
freezer and heated up in a toaster cycle or two.

It seems to be doing all right in the market, despite the unfortunate name that
sounds like a prediction of doom for your toaster. 

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Fried Oysters Wrapped in Bacon
 Categories: Cajun, Shellfish, Pork, Appetisers
      Yield: 2 servings
 
     12    Fresh, shucked oysters; (in
           - a jar)
    1/4 c  Oyster liquor (from jar)
      1    Bay leaf
      1 ts Worcestershire sauce
      4 sl Lean bacon
    1/2 c  Unbleached white flour; (in
           - a small bowl) 
      2 lg Eggs; beaten, in a small
           - bowl
      1 c  Bread crumbs
      2 c  Oil; for frying
     12    Toothpicks

  In a 1 quart saucepan, on a medium flame, poach oysters in
  oyster liquor with bay leaf and Worcestershire (about 2
  minutes, until the edges of the oysters curl).

  Remove oysters from liquor and set aside. Discard liquor.

  Cut bacon strips in thirds. Wrap each oyster with bacon and
  fasten with a toothpick.

  Roll in flour, dip in eggs, and then roll in bread crumbs.

  Heat oil in a 9 inch skillet. When oil smokes, reduce heat
  and fry oysters for 5 minutes.

  Drain on paper bag and serve immediately.

  Yields 12 oysters.
