I stayed in, Steve took the chili but didn't stay for the judging.
Afterward, the pastor let us know it came in second--very close to the
winner--out of (he thought) about 10.

second childhood

ones in the

We had those in some of the classrooms in my school. I went to a K-12
all in one building central school built in 1939.  There were quite a
few schools in the area like that--small towns consolidating one room
school houses in the vicinity.  We merged with another school in the
area just before my sophomore year of high school but still weren't very
large.  I do remember the cafeteria serving what they called "corned
beef hash" but it was given the nickname "Alpo" by students. (G)

-> We had some  flurries earlier today but nothing stuck.  This isn't

I understand another storm is moving in tomorrow too. Hopefully it won't
hit my parents in upstate NY--had a call about 5pm from my mom that my
dad (88) fell and broke his hip.  He was transferred to a hospital an
hour away & she doesn't drive.  No further details so we've got a lot of
questions, waiting for answers.
