There appears to be resistance to Weggie's encroachments. I
wonder if the entrenched Giant and Safeway people are putting
up barriers, or Wegman's stores are particularly environmentally
unfriendly, or Wegman management is just more forthright and
public about its trials and tribulations.

I didn't find that so much in what was represented as the
11-y-o, much more in the 10-y-o for some reason. Perhaps
there's some difference in each batch that makes it more
or less susceptible.

Gorgonzola Cheese Cake
cat: starter, main
servings: 12 to many

h - Crust
4 1/2 c water
1 1/2 c corn meal
1 Tb garlic, minced
2 ts salt
2 Tb dried oregano
1/2 c Asiago cheese, grated
h - Filling
12 cloves garlic, chopped
1 lb gorgonzola cheese, room temperature
2 1/2 lb (5 pk) cream cheese, room temperature
5 eggs, room temperature

Crust: Preheat oven to 375F. Grease a 12x17" sheet pan.
In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil and stir in corn
meal, garlic, salt, and oregano. Reduce heat to low and
simmer for 15 min, stirring occasionally. When mixture
is cooked, stir in Asiago cheese and pour into the sheet
pan and smooth out evenly. Set aside and let cool.

Filling: In a large mixer, combine cheeses and garlic.
Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each
addition. Pour into corn meal crust and smooth out.
Place cheese cake in middle of center rack. Bake for
30 min, or until insta-read thermometer reads 160F.
Remove and let cool to room temperature.

This versatile dish can either be served as an appetizer
by cutting into 1" cubes or as an entree by cutting into
4x4" squares and served with your favorite salad. Serves
12 as an entree or a crowd as an appetizer.
