Our most frequent source of power outages is fries ravens. Their
wingspan is just enough to touch both power lines when they take
off from roosting on one of them. I don't know why the power company
uses the standard poles. If the wires were on a wider than normal
span this kind of short wouldn't happen.

      Title: Basic Stuffing 216 Ways
 Categories: Stuffing, American, Mushrooms, Nuts
      Yield: 16 Servings
 
      1 md Onion; diced, 1 cup
      2    Ribs celery; diced, 1/2
           Cup
      2 md Carrots; diced, 1/2 cup
      4 tb Light butter
      1 pk Mushrooms; (8 oz.) sliced
    1/2 c  Fruit; Column C
    1/4 c  Nuts; toasted, Column B
      1 tb Fresh chopped sage
      1 tb Fresh chopped parsley
     12 c  Bread; cubed & dried,
           Column A
      1 cn Reduced-sodium fat-free
           Chicken broth; (14.5 oz.)
 
  Where indicated you choose from Column A, B, C listed below.
  
  Heat oven to 350 F. degrees. In skillet, saute first 3 ingredients
  in butter 5 minutes. Add mushrooms; saute 3 minutes. Place in
  casserole dish; stir in remaining ingredients. Bake 15 minutes
  covered with foil. Uncover bake 15 minutes more. Serves 16.

  1- crumbled cornbread
  2- pumpernickel
  3- challah or brioche
  4- crusty rye bread
  5- cubed baguette
  6- sourdough bread
  
  Column B:
  1- sliced almonds
  2- chopped walnuts
  3- chopped pecans
  4- unsalted pistachios
  5- crushed pine nuts
  6- chopped cashews
  
  Column C:
  1- 1 chopped fresh pear
  2- 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
  3- 1 diced Granny Smith apple
  4- 1/2 cup golden raisins
  5- 3 dried figs, chopped
  6- 1/3 cup dried currants
  
  Stuffing Combinations:
  
  New England-Style:
  A4 crusty rye bread
  B5 crushed pine nuts
  C3 chopped Granny Smith apple
  
  Napa Valley-Style:
  A6 sourdough bread
  B2 chopped walnuts
  C4 golden raisins
  
  Kansas City-Style:
  A5 cubed baguette
  B6 chopped cashews
  C1 chopped fresh pear
  
  Southwestern-Style:
  A3 challah or brioche
  B1 sliced almonds
  C6 dried currants
  
  Deep South-Style:
  A1 crumbled cornbread
  B3 chopped pecans
  C2 dried apricots
  
  Note: Stuffing ingredients can be prepared ahead of time but, keep
  wet & dry ingredients chilled separately. This keeps bacteria from
  contaminating the stuffing.
