You know, I don't give much credit to posted information with
such attributions. Actually, I trust your own pronouncements
much more - there's a real person with an IQ of greater than 99
and not too many axes to grind behind them. Internet research
comes with such bullshit mixed in. I admit that Wikipedia has
much improved, as most articles are scrutinized by thousands of
sets of eyes, many attached to people with some respect for the
truth. But the quality drops precipitously from there. Let me
take the gloves off and say that the free dictionary's definition,
though it may have once been acceptable, is certainly false now.
When I say "I don't know about that" or "I'm not sure about that"
the chances are that the original statement is crap, but this is
a family echo. There is more than a smack of unacceptable puritanism
when a 5% beer is called "very strong."

Correct response. But taking my own Lasix as an example, the fee
schedule has been (monthly, not insurance covered)

- I haven't argued with those prices.

I once sat next to the widow of one of the two CVS brothers.
She was older but quite attractive, and I did in fact make
discreet inquiries about her availability. Seems she already
had a boy toy, though.

Don's Salad of warm Western Australian sardines
cat: fish
servings: 4

16 sardines, heads removed and filleted
10 Tb olive oil
flour for dusting
1 Tb coriander seeds, crushed fine
1 Tb pink peppercorns
4 Tb unsalted peanuts finely chopped
2 Tb balsamic vinegar
salad leaves
cracked black pepper

One of the nicest ways I have ever eaten sardines was on a sandy
beach with a little fire of hot coals. Here we simply wedged whole
gutted and salted sardines through some thin lengths of driftwood
and slowly grilled them (turning when necessary) on the outer reach
of the fire. 'Heaven on a stick', especially washed down with an
ice-cold beer.

Salad greens: baby spinach, small cos lettuce hearts, rocket,
curly endive, iceberg, etc.

Heat half the olive oil in heavy-based large frying pan.

Toss the sardines lightly in flour and saute for a few minutes
either side until golden.

Drain on paper towels.

In a smaller frying pan, dry-fry the coriander seeds until
they smell "roasted." Add 3 Tb olive oil, the peppercorns, and
peanuts, and toss for 30 sec. Remove pan from heat, stir in
remaining olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. Adjust seasoning.

Arrange mixed leaves on large white plate, place four warm
sardines criss-cross fashion on top of leaves and spoon over
some dressing.

You can substitute fresh lime or lemon juice for the balsamic
vinegar and if the dressing is a little tart, add a touch of
sugar and blend well.
