I think I would rather eat properly prepared fugu.  A medium sized
cane toad can kill a horse which inadvertently chomps on it.  Apart
from the mildly poisonous glands all over its back, the toad has a
pair of large glands in the shoulder region which can exude quite a
lot of poison.  When I was young I had a pet cane toad, but I never
made it angry, so it didn't kill me.

Most frogs and toads only respond to food that moves and is small
enough to be drawn into the mouth with a sticky-ended tongue, but when
living in Pt Moresby I found a huge cane toad that hid in a drainpipe
until I had put out the dog's dish of rice and tinfish, then it would
come and sit in the dish and scoff down a lot of the food, ignoring
the unhappy, hungry dog, which could only stand and watch.
Fortunately the dog didn't try to attack the toad, which I brutally
clubbed to death.

I occasionally visit my niece who has lived in Texas for quite a few
years, and with the aid of a number on non-Texan-born friends, she has
been able to adjust and survive there, although she still doesn't like
Houston, where she works - but even Texans don't like Houston.  One of
my favourite cities is San Antonio, which has good food and friendly
people; of course most of them were not born in Texas.

A pertinent point is that feral camels are much bigger than kangaroos,
and occupy a much smaller part of Australia.

      Title: BFT Toad In The Hole
 Categories: British, Appetizers
      Yield: 4 servings
 
     25 g  Butter (1 oz)
    450 g  Sausages (1 lb)
    110 g  Flour (4 oz)
      1    Egg
    300 ml Milk ( 1/2 pint)
 
  The best sausages to use for this dish are flavoursome ones like
  Lincoln or Cumberland sausages.
  
  Pre-heat oven to 220  C / 425  F / Gas 7.
  
  Place butter and sausages in a 25 x 30 cm (10 x 12 inch) roasting
  tin. Cook for 10 minutes (or longer if you like your bangers very
  well done).
  
  Sift the flour into a bowl. Break in the egg. Gradually add half the
  milk, beating to form a smooth batter. Pour in the remaining milk and
  beat until quite smooth. Alternatively, add the flour, milk and egg
  to the liquidiser and blend until smooth.
  
  Pour the batter into the roasting tin and bake for 40-45 minutes,
  until the batter is well risen and golden.
  
  Other herby sausages can be used, including vegetarian ones.
