Is that because you know as much or more about the areas than the
guidebooks...?  Or do they just not give any information about the areas
that you'd be interested in...?

Don't feel too bad about that... had you taken notes, chances are that
you wouldn't be able to find them when you wanted them anyway... ;> 
Remembering the tale itself is probably all that's really needful...

It might have something to do with the average age here... or the times
we live in...  (G)   My body tends to do a pretty good job of keeping
things chronic rather than going acute... sometimes that backfires
though... ;0
