Yeah, that is true, another thing I had to learn. They glycemic <sp?> index 
of foods. How You can reduce the carbs by fiber etc. I use ( I can't think of 
the name cuz I want to. ) wraps that are about 15 grams of carbs, but 9 grams 
of fiber, so only about 6 grams count, I would imagine give or take though. 
But they make good tuna sandwiches etc.

This is true. Like I was saying to Sean, and he does the same, most will say 
about 60grams a meal. For me, I try to keep it 60-100 a day. I just do better 
and if I do go over sometimes, it is not a big deal as if I did the 
reccomended and then did a few more. Each individual is different.

Heheheh Sometimes those treats keep us going... As long as it isn't often.

I always remember one day, It was shortly before my Mother passed due to 
complications from diabetes, She was almost 80 at the time. My Father was 
razzing her about something she was eating, and she just said. " At my age, I 
don't think it is going to hurt to splurge once in a while, the damage is 
already done! A treat is nice, how much longer am I going to live anyway and 
in what condition. Simple things sometimes are just made to enjoy" I couldn't 
fault her on that, we would always nag her, and for the most part she did 
well, but there were those occasions where she just wanted something she 
loved to eat and at that age, she was right.. At that age, how much time was 
she going to lose due to eating that piece of Pumpking pie or whatever on the 
Holiday?

Thats all You can do is support, You can't make life miserable. Some people, 
Like my Father could be a pain in the butt to my Mom. Always harping as he 
had his second piece of pie <grin>

Yeah, someone like Sean may know better, but I think Lantus is a loooong 
acting insulin and works like over 17 hours, so probably once a day would be 
all she would need of her dose. I take Cinnamon capsules too, I don't know if 
they help, but You make think it is funny, But I like it when I burp, It is 
as if I had a cinnamon roll, but did not remember 8-)  I just keep tasting 
it.

As I shopped today, I found a small box of truvia and actually just got home 
recently. I haven't tried it yet, Maybe on some strawberries at dinner. I 
don't know that I want it as it would taste better, but am giving it a try as 
it may be better for me. I actually do get along well with splenda and 
Nutrasweet. I am fortunate not to get the bad aftertaste. I'll let You 
Know...

As Sean Said, I think maybe moving this out of this echo would be good idea 
so as not to intrude on the real essence of the echo. I will have to check 
and see if Thoms Diabetes echo is still up. I know he said if it was not 
being used he was going to pull it, as before.
