I got the impression that Malaysian was still trying hard, but
Singapore was better organised, particularly in airport related
activities.  Singapore is slick.  Malaysian muddles.

Qantas is now offering free flights to NZ and domestically to try to
persuade disillusioned patrons to return to "Australia's Own Airline".

They worked well as a team.

The King had an uncontrollable stammer, which made it impossible for
him to give inspiring speeches before and during WW2.  The Australian,
Lionel Logue, taught him to overcome that handicap.  A recent movie,
on that subject, "The King's Speech" won 7 British Academy Awards.

Yesterday I was in a car during the rush hour when a railway level
crossing boom gate malfunctioned closed on a main suburban road. In a
matter of minutes traffic banked up for over a kilometre in all
directions; alternative minor roads were quickly blocked, and it took
over a half hour to find a way home around that chaos.

Housing planners these days recommend higher population density, with
workers living closer to their work places.  You and other Americans
(and Australians) are becoming increasingly aware of the limitations
of personal mobility vehicles, and that the only alternative is fast,
efficient mass transport of people, using subways, trains, trams,
buses and/or (my favourite) trolley buses.  Even at peak periods it is
quick and easy to get around such cities as Singapore, Warsaw, Prague
and Budapest, as thanks to somewhat repressive past regimes they have
largely escaped the plague of universal private ownership of cars.
(Oh dear, I fear I have been on my soapbox again.  Sorry.)

Having had considerable personal experience of both nurture and
nature, I would rate their respective importances in the child's
development as 70:30 respectively. In your situation I can understand
your reluctance to continue your genetic line, however you can still
speculate on the "what might have been".  After all, Beethoven was a
rather horrible person, but the world is certainly a far better place
as result of his existence.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Fondue Harvard Musical Association
 Categories: Historical, Corn
      Yield: 8 Servings
 
      8 oz Gruyere
      8 oz Emmenthal
    1/2 c  Dryish white wine
      2 tb Kirsch
      2 tb Cornstarch
           Nutmeg
 
  Put the cheeses in a chafing dish. Immediately add the white wine and
  cook, stirring. When the mixture comes to a bubble, combine the
  Kirsch and cornstarch and stir in. Heat, still stirring, until the
  fondue is appropriately hot and rather smooth.
  
  Serve over toast and sprinkle each slice with nutmeg.
  
  We had mass quantities of Hugel Gentil with our postconcert supper,
