Thinking back, I knew a Canadian lawyer once. He got sent
to jail for forgery - a slightly amusing story that probably
doesn't belong here. Just think, he could have run away to
Yellowknife and done just fine without becoming a criminal.

Indeed.

It would have been nice (too late now) to have some kind of
3-way data feed, so those attending any one could have had
the feeling of participating a little in the other two.

They're not that terrible, just onions, batter, and grease,
all of which are acceptable foods. But the stereotyped casserole
is just that, stereotyped, commonplace, overused.

When I lived in the Deep South I wanted to be as dark as
possible. Which reminds me of the first day of high school,
(I started off way later than other people, owing to moving
at the wrong end of September), when my butt was parked at the
headmaster's office waiting for an entrance interview. One of
the parents looked at me and did a double take of almost comic
proportions, then sighed with relief and said, "For a moment
I'd thought they'd broken the color bar." I chuckled hollowly
at this witticism.

That sounds almost as silly as "La Maison de la Casa House" that
Calvin Trillin posits in one of his books, American Fried I think.

I had a USA Papa Burger recently; a disappointment compared to
the Canadian product. Does A&W Canada still make root beer
according to the time-honored recipe (17 not-so-secret herbs
and spices, of which 16 are natural)?

Wilfork sticky chicken for a large crowd
cat: main, party
yield: 16 to 20

2 family packs chicken drumsticks
46 oz cn pineapple juice
15 oz bottle teriyaki sauce
2 c brown sugar
1 c ketchup
1/2 c honey
1/4 c minced garlic

Oven at 350 to 375F.

Wash chicken and arrange in large oven pan. Arrange
drumsticks one up, one down to maximize space.

Combine all other ingredients in large pot over
medium-low heat. When hot and well blended, pour
over chicken.

Bake 1 hr until meat is easily pulled from the bone.
Rotate pan halfway through baking.

Serve chicken and juices over your choice of rice.

M's note: substitute 1 c soy for the teriyaki
