Getting closer every day!

I'm not sure what we will have as we will be guests, not hosts. Tomorrow
at the holiday farmer's market we'll be picking up a (dead) duck; Steve
wants to smoke it. I'm thinking of having him brush it with a mix of
honey, soy sauce and orange juice before putting it on and during
cooking. Have some orange pieces in the water pan as well.

-> they couldn't get a supply ship in--a 3 week spell in late December,
-> 1944 when meals alternated between canned corned beef & spam. He isn't
-> fond of either of them (or powdered eggs) to this day.

I've not, to the best of my recall, had powdered eggs. Spam is OK,
canned corned beef is good for some things but not like the real thing.
It's good fried. The Original Pancake House (one in Las Vegas, one in
Savannah, probably other places) makes a great corned beef and Swiss
cheese omelette--one that is actually enough to fill a couple of people.

Yes, that was it. Almost 20 years ago & still messed up from it.  But,
the wrists aren't fused yet, like an ortho doc down in SV, AZ wanted to
do in 93. Some flex beats no flex.

Overall, it should. There will be some "blips" from time to time, but
considering all that's been thrown at her, they're to be expected. she's
over the worst of the treatments, now just has to rest, regain some
strength and get the radiation out of the way.

True, but she will get them in time. LAst time we were at my parents, I
swiped a cook book from my mom's collection called "More Vegetables,
Please". It's got all kinds of vegetable recipes, sorted by season
mostly. We've tried several different ones and enjoyed them; Mom will
have to fight me to get this book back. (Seriously, I've no idea why/how
she got it as she and Dad eat vegetables plain-with a bit of butter,
salt & pepper-boiled or nuked to death.) I don't think there will be
much of a fight.

Reassure her that it's only for a short time. Then she can have all the
chocolate she wants.
