I like a good deal too. The other day at the seminary Sharing Shop (all
donated stuff, no cost to students to take) I got some little girl
(preschool age) patterns. I'm almost done with a 3 piece set (jumper,
jeans jacket out of the same material & mock turtleneck) for Sarah; the
next ones will be in the larger sizes.

Got a good meal today for a decent price. Some friends had suggested we
try a seafood place about 10 miles away from us. We went there for
lunch; the meal (with dessert) was under $30. Best seafood we've had
since we left Georgia! The fried stuff (I had fried shrimp & scallops
with cole slaw & mustard potato salad.) was done in Calabash style--a
light breading was used and a light frying. Steve had his grilled
(oysters and flounder with Brunswick stew and sweet potato). The stew
was more of a soup consistancy and the sweet potato was small (compared
to a lot that you get) but the "butter" and cinnamon sugar were on the
side, not dumped onto the potato. Hush puppies were good, again, light,
but no onion in them. I got a slice of creamy strawberry cheesecake for
dessert; Steve went for the coconut pie (which they warmed up for him).
We are definatly planning to go back to that place! We arent' getting
down to the coast for seafood & the one seafood place we tried in
Raleigh was very forgettable so it was nice to find one that will become
a fast favorite of ours nearby.

Don't know if there are any in Wake Forest but I know Raleigh has
seveal. Savannah had a good number.

We did buy a bag of Hawaiian rolls, for just in case. They would have
been gone fast if I'd have put them out. Instead, I saved them, brought
them home and they will be the basis for a bread pudding in the future.


-> enough kalua pork for at least one meal and spinach salad for supper
-> tonight plus lunch for me tomorrow. Originally it was about 8 pounds of

-> salad & wheat bread home with one lady who's husband couldn't be there.

We're exposing our Life Group to some things we might try on a larger
scale at the church. Most all have been successful in LG but haven't had
the chance to take up to the whole church level yet. The chili has had
the most exposure since I've done the same for the competitions as I
made the time I cooked it for Wed. night supper (now discontinued).
