Hi Ruth,

 RH> There had to be a downside.

I can sacrifice a few cookies for having a program I'm happier having my
granddaughters participate in. Besides, the Raleigh paper had a copy cat
recipe for Thin Mints (my favorite) a few weeks ago. (G)


-> The Sharing Shop has the Manna Ministry (for the students) in one of its
-> rooms; we've gotten an occaisional too stale to give out doughnut from
-> time to time. The bread we leave for other students who don't make their
-> own. That group gets some of the bags we bring in.

 RH> If they were in Africa, the local ladies would crochet bags out of
 RH> them.

Ladies at some senior citizens groups here in the states do so as well.
I can't knit or crochet so I donate bags.

 RH> It's finally tag sale season again.  I find some decent stuff year

Trash to you, treasure to someone else. Any interesting old Tupperware?
We checked out a "vintage treasures" shop a few months ago that had
some. They were charging high prices for setx with missing pieces so
didn't buy any. Steve did find a projector; I found a couple of patterns
(vintage) and a thimble from Rome for my collection.

-> Had the last class of this course last night so I told the instructor
-> that I'd gotten to cut a wedding cake. She asked how I did, so I told
-> her "quite well, thanks to your instructions" so she was pleased.

 RH> You didn't tell her about getting into a food fight with it later?

No, because I didn't get into one. By the time everything was all
cleaned up, I was wiped out.

Or his cousin, something of that sort.

-> Haven't made any, need to search out a recipe. Got a 2 quart jar tonight
-> so I can do some preserved lemons.

Found a recipe for kale chips but have spinach and chard on hand now.
The lemons will go into Moroccan/Middle Eastern cooking.
