I try to jolly them both along. He's not the problem, having
come to the realization that he's not long for this vale of
tears (whether weeks or months is uncertain, which drives Annie
nuts - sort of like anticipating the vaccination needle, only
worse). Annie though needs lots of attention.

Indeed: he would be going downstairs in the same building.
What has happened, though, is that he still needs full care,
so he's staying upstairs on the unit and they're commuting
him down to 2x a day rehab, which he says is strengthening.

Interestingly, the rehab unit was founded by Annie's dad,
who saw the need for follow-up after the trauma docs had
finished with their work, and there was no such thing in
Williamsport at the time (1950s). There are still people
working there who remember him (and her), as he headed the
center until he retired in the '80s I think.

Sounds like on the whole a good thing. Small is manageable
(and clearly affordable).

---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.01

      Title: Electronic Gourmet's Steak Diane
 Categories: Meats
      Yield: 4 servings

      1 x  Onion or Shallot, chop fine         1 ds Worcestershire Sauce
      3 oz Butter                              1 ds Brandy
      4 sl Sirloin or Rump Steak (thin)             Fresh Parsley, chopped

  1) Fry shallots in the hot butter for 2 minutes. Add the thin slices of
     steak, cook 1 minute on either side.

  2) Lift out the meat, and put onto a hot dish. Add the sauce, and the
     brandy to the butter.

  3) Ignite if wished (and insured) and pour over the steaks. Garnish with
     chopped parsley.

  This dish requires last minute cooking.
