That would be cause for one more jar. Hmmm, Ray's new girlfriend has
three little kids. I wonder if they have had the Nutella experience
yet. I must check into that.

Despite my extreme youth I am now a double step great grandparent.
Raine's new husband has two kids from a previous marriage. The boy
is 20 and has moved in with them (temporarily?) as he is between
jobs at the moment. (Lexi loves having a big brother.) The girl is
22 and she and her boyfriend have a cute little boy, with the
unlikely name of Jaxson, that Roslind has gone totally gaga over.

None of us ever did.

For me, even those pale after a while if I overdo it. And I thought
I could never overdo lobster but I learned otherwise in Nfld.

All things I enjoy on a regular but not maybe not daily basis.
Pancakes, about weekly, eggs thrice weekly, potatoes every second
day, salad often, kale not so often.

I put things like asparagus and celery in narrow flower vases,
cauliflower and lettuce in round bowls. And all sorts of misc things
are helped just by storing in a sealed plastic bag that contains a
tablespoon or so of water.

Speaking of vegetables I recently made a ratatouille-like casserole
with all the usual suspects plus caraway-free harissa, anchovies and
Feta which turned out very nicely. I just had some re-heated for
brunch along with a roasted rainbow trout, that Ray caught ice
fishing this past winter. I dusted the trout with a spice rub
containing chile and cumin among other things before baking it and
drizzled it with a spicy cilantro mayonnaise after it was cooked.
The diverse flavours worked well together.
