Probably.  I think that they closed some of the smaller stores because
of fears that the Walmarts etc would take away what they viewed as the
main clientele there, lured by the lower prices practically next door...
and not at all considering those of us that aren't attracted to lower
prices accompanied by lower quality and often filth and lower morals.

As there will always be some part of the populace that is lured by lower
prices alone...  I must admit, I'd rather get something like envelopes
from a Dollar store as long as it's the same quality for a lower price. 
Food I'm a bit pickier on, though...  more quality points to take into
consideration...
