Here I am getting a packet from across the wide blue water about every
third day.  Today only 30 msgs came through, including your batch of
recipes, indicating that quite a lot have either dropped into the sea
or have never left their Homeland.

If you get this, perhaps you could advise me about something that
sounds strange.  What is this "meat glue" you chaps have been talking
about recently?  I can understand its use to sell the little bits of
meat that drop onto the boning room floor, but what is it made from.
It would have to be something cheap, like the glue we used to make
from flour and water, but that would probably result in an unpleasant
flavour.  Perhaps the marketing gurus have worked out a way to sell
that to the great unwashed as the latest specially created taste?

      Title: GLUHWEIN
 Categories: Jamie4, I/net, Drinks, German, Euro-c
      Yield: 1 Servings
 
      2 c  Wine, red, inexpensive
      1 c  Water
    1/2 c  Sugar, castor
           - to 2/3 cup (or to taste)
      3    Cloves
    1/2    Cinnamon stick
      1 sl Lemon rind
           -with white part removed.
 
  Bring water, sugar, and all the spices (everything except the red
  wine) to a slow boil in a small pot and stir it until all the sugar
  dissolves. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the red wine.
  Then put the pot back on the heat, and warm it until it is just
  simmering again (i.e. - don't boil it).  Strain it in to a cup and
  enjoy!
