Howdy Michael!

As it is with me, my mom is a 20 year + colon cancer
survivor. As she says, she may wear a bag, but she's
alive enough to do it!

As Anne and I have discovered, there are
almost as many different cancers as there
are rhinoviruses. Even within a single "genre"
like breast cancer, there are huge variations
from patient to patient and tumor to tumor. It's
confusing as hell that's for sure. The more they
seem to learn, the more confusing it seems to be.
Some are slow, some are fast, some are aggressive
and some don't respond to the "traditional" 
treatment plans.

It if is indeed the case you present I would 
change oncologists immediately and do as much
as possible to spread the word about this one.

I cannot imagine that the therapy would have 
gotten to the stage it has without proper
testing and positive results. Just because
Billy has not responded (or more correctly
his cancer has not responded) as predicted
does not mean multiple others have not had
successful results. This is small solace when
the person you care about is the exception
to the rule, but nothing seems to work for
everyone. Anne had to change her chemo "mix"
a couple of times before they got the "cocktail"
that seemed to both affect the cancer the
most (speculation by research primarily)and
her physical well being the least (purely 
subjective of course, the impact was 
huge to her and me).  
Now if it is entirely in a clinical trial
stage then I might understand that 
the results may be not what one would
hope for...but even at the clinical 
trial stage, it should have been based
on good science and a stiff testing 
regimen before reaching the clinical
trials.

I'm not privy to the particular regimen 
Billy has endured, and can only take you
at your word...and if that's the case I'd
switch to an oncologist who elicits more 
faith in his motives and methods.
