I discover on further investigation that the original medium
is sci-fi novel, and the author is George R. R. Martin, which
heavily skews my opinion in its favor.

If I got a mil, I'd not do anything different, maybe buy
plane fares that were easier to upgrade or something. If I
got 300 mil, I'd try to buy Raquel Welch, and failing that
go about my business in pretty much the same way.

Not that I'd ever buy a ticket. I once got a bunch of coupons
in the mail for free lottery tickets (the government, figuring
out that there was a disproportionate burden on poor people,
tried to remedy this by hooking the middle class, via free
tickets, an inequitable situation if I ever saw one) and got
a $500 winner out of it. I was so mortified and guilty that I
gave it to Oxfam and never redeemed a free lottery coupon again.

      Title: Chicken In A Pot
 Categories: mexican, chicken, spices/etc.
      Yield: 6 servings

      3 lb whole chicken
      2    carrots, sliced
      2    onions, sliced
      2    celery stalks with leaves,
           -cut in 1"
      1 ts basil
      2 ts salt
    1/2 ts black pepper
    1/2 c  chlcken broth or wine

  Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of CROCK-POT. Add whole
  chicken. Top with salt, pepper, liquid. Sprinkle basil over top.
  Cover and cook until done-low 8 to 10 hours. (High 3 to 4 hours,
  using 1 cup water). Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula.
