Dad wasn't just a stringer; he worked for the paper full time plus. He'd
go back in to work on Monday & Tuesday nights; Wednesdays he'd be home
only after it was all wrapped up/printed & Thursdays he'd be in early to
distribute (drive around to various locations/towns & fill boxes).

We didn't really want them but had no choice. Worst part was when we got
15 pounds of free government cheese. Wouldn't have been bad had it been
real cheese but we got the velveeta plastic cheezoid stuff. Couldn't
freeze it so we used it as fast as we could and never got more.

We wouldn't have gone on them except for needing to feed the kids.
Otherwise we would have tightened our belts a bit more and had more rice
& beans, beans & rice.

-> Yes, and no such thing as a mini van then. When we were car shopping for

No, did that with the Swiss Army knives we got. Steve & I each have a
full size and a smaller one; I keep my small one in my purse (most of
the time).

-> I do know, from what I've read/heard. Nearest drive in was an hour away,
-> local theater was maybe a mile. Besides, until my dad's boss sold the

Very good, especially with 5 kids in our family.

Used to be a lot of good ones, not like today. Kids today need to watch
the old cartoons to see quality work and "clean" characters.

-> That's where the freezer would come in handy, make the soup while you're
-> feeling good & freeze a stash. Then all you have to do is pull it out

Add that to the plus side of the list.............
