Melbourne, also, I think.  Melbourne is reputed to have more Greek
descendants than any city outside of Athens.  In the 19th century
Darwin had a large influx of Chinese, while Adelaide got Scots and
Germans and a few Afghan camel drivers.  Following the Vietnam war,
many refugees came from that country and settled here to grow
vegetables, and open bakeries and restaurants.  They instigated the
greatest change in local eating habits, to "light and healthy".
 
 -> the local Coles supermarket.  Chicken wings are down to $2.20/kg.

The wings are very economical, as the dogs finish off whatever bones
are left after the humans have gnawed them.

 -> commercial farms where babies are hatched from eggs stolen from wild
 -> crocs by brave idiots, and raised for skins and meat.  The skins are
 -> mainly exported to Italy to be made into handbags, shoes and belts.

 RH> Best use I ever heard of for a croc!  They hunt them here for the same

One of the farms has a sideline selling croc-burgers and crumbed fried
croc legs.  The farmed crocodiles are fed on time expired chooks from
the poultry farms, and left-over bits of their older relatives.  The
meat is sent to local and interstate restaurants.
 
 ->  RH> Florida has a gator problem too, of course.  One more similarity.
 -> Another similarity is that both areas are prone to occasional
 -> destructive hurricanes/cyclones.

Haha!  My grandfather took me to see the "Wizard of Oz" movie, when it
first came out, and I was terrified by hurricane scenes, and had
nightmares for days afterwards.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Wild Greens and Crocodile Frittata
 Categories: Main dish, Seafood, Native, Australian
      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      2 tb Olive oil; OR
      2 tb ; canola oil
      6    Onions- bush; >12, OR
      1 sm ; onion, chop fine
      1 c  Crocodile meat; in strips
      1 c  Spinach- wild; roughly chop
      5    Eggs
      3 tb Milk; fresh or powdered
           Salt and pepper
 
  Wild spinach is used for cooking, medicinal purposes & is also smoked
  like tonacco. It has a peppery flavour. This is a simple, nutritious
  dish that can be varied with other white meats such as fish, chicken
  & prawns. Emu eggs are also good for this recipe.
  
  Heat medium-sized camp pan with oil, add bush onions & lightly brown.
  Add crocodile meat & cook till tender. Add wild spinach & toss
  lightly with wooden spoon. Reduce heat to low.
  
  In a bowl, mix eggs with milk, salt & pepper to taste. Whisk with a
  fork. Pour mixture over crocodile & wild spinach. Mix well.
  
  Place pan in hot oven 180-200*C for 10 minutes or till cooked. Test
  with wooden stick or skewer. Mixture will rise & be firm.
