I can easily find Barenjager on-line all over but my local store
doesn't carry it. The Krupnik was a special order for a party where
the (Ukrainian) host obtained a case from the Alberta Liquor Board
via the NWT Liquor Board via a local retailer with markups along the
way. If I cared to I could buy a case of anything that way as long
as there was a Canadian distributor for it somewhere.

It's stronger than mead which is basically a wine. Krupnik is a
distilled spirit: vodka plus honey and some kind of herbal
flavouring.

I dislike amaretto but would be happy making that with a white
liquor, probably rum, if I was in a fruity drink mood.

#6 Organic Food: Because of the balance of global wealth and power,
there is a general assumption that white people are pretty shrewd.
But white people have one great weakness: organic food. When faced
with eating food that has been processed and loaded with nitrates,
sodium and saturated fat, or organic rat poison, 10/10 they will
take the rat poison.

Just like with farmers markets, white people believe that organic
food is grown by farmers who wear overalls, drive tractors, and
don't use pesticide. In spite of the fact that most organic food is
made by major agribusiness, and they just use it as an excuse to
jack up prices, white people will always lose their mind for organic
anything. White people don't care, just so long as they aren't
eating pesticides they are pretty sure they can live forever.
It's almost guaranteed that if some Columbian drug lord can start
offering organic cocaine, he'll be the richest guy ever.

     Title: Chilli Garlic Shanghai Noodles 
Categories: Chinese, Singapore, Noodles, Chilies, Garlic
  Servings: 4

    100 g  Wheat noodles
      1 c  Shredded cabbage
    1/2 c  Shredded carrot
    1/2 c  Wood ear mushrooms soaked &
           chopped
      2    Chopped spring onions
      1 tb Minced garlic
      1 ts Minced ginger
      3    Dried Red chillies
    1/2 ts Salt
      2 tb Light soy sauce or
      2 ts dark soy
      1 ts Chili paste/Chili sauce
      2 ts Oil

Bring around 5 cups of water to a rolling boil, and add the noodles.
It is important to add the noodles only after the water starts
boiling, else they may get overcooked. Boil for about three minutes
or as per the noodle maker's instructions. Wash under cold water,
drain, sprinkle a few drops of oil and keep aside.

Heat the oil in a non stick wok and fry chillies till they turn a
shade darker and keep aside. What we are left with is chili oil. In
the same oil, fry the garlic and ginger till fragrant. Then add the
cabbage, carrot and spring onion whites and toss for about 30
seconds. Add the noodles, chili paste, soy sauce and toss lightly to
mix. Do not fry for too long as the noodles will get overcooked. Top
with the spring onion greens and the chili that we had fried
earlier, broken into pieces.
