If you expect your home to also be an investment. Your primary
residence should be exempt from that kind of thinking, as long as
owning (with a mortgage) is still cheaper than renting. I have owned
the same home since 1989 and I need a roof over my head; I could
care less that it's market value dropped a bit temporarily in
1997-1999 and again in 2008-2009 as I wasn't in the market trying to
sell but living in it with a low initial cost and a low payment.

Some of us certainly do.

I haven't said that to anyone since around 2006. I do point out that
rental costs less after tax interest earned on a down payment are
almost always more than mortgage carrying costs (that has been the
case in Canada since the end of WWII and the inception of CMHC, 58
out of the last 67 years). And that waiting for a dip in prices will
cost more in the long run if mortgage rates rise from the current
record low 3% to the historical average of 6% (a distinct
possibility).

Mind you a dip to me is 6-12% over 2 years with a full recovery
within 4 years. Canada didn't have a blowout like the USA has
suffered.

Disgusting tasting things. Roslind bought a little bag of them once
as she's easily swayed by the enthusiastic claims of the alternative
health practitioners in her little office cluster. Then she tastes
them, I talk them down and she does some internet research and they
linger on forever. I finally used them up by subbing for half the
raisins in a rice pudding and found them tolerable that way.

I will say I do like the taste of hemp seeds although I downplay
their nutrition claims about 90%.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Red Currant Rhubarb Sauce with Port Wine
 Categories: Sauces, Venison, Pheasant, Wine
      Yield: 1 Servings

      2 c  Rhubarb, peeled & diced
  1 1/4 c  Red currant jelly
      1 tb Arrowroot
      1 tb Port wine

  Thoroughly wash about 1 pound of fresh rhubarb and peel the fibrous
  outer layer off with a knife.  Cut the stalks into small pieces,
  about 1/4 inch dice. Combine the rhubarb with the red currant jelly
  and cook over medium heat until reduced by about 1/3.  Strain the
  rhubarb out of the sauce. You should have about 1 cup of liquid.  If
  you have more, reduce over medium heat until the desired 1 cup is
  reached. Save the cooked rhubarb and chill it overnight.  This can be
  served just like you would applesauce with a pork chop. Combine the
  port wine and arrowroot and stir out any lumps. Add the port mixture
  to the boiling rhubarb sauce and stir vigorously for 1 minute. Simmer
  for 2 minutes. Serve this sauce with grilled venison steaks or
  pheasant breasts.
