Any major disaster takes a long time to rebuild from... we still have
teams going to Japan to help with rebuilding from the tsunami of last
year... and there's still lots more to be done...

Quite some years ago now, I took a trip down to NC in late January to
visit my great-aunts in Montreat... we (my 6yo son and I) stayed in a
hotel in Black Mountain.  One thing that struck me was how little snow
there was, that time of year.  It was cold, but not as cold as we'd
already been used to that winter up north...  :)
