Yes, and it's tricky when an ounce of one kind of nuts is the same
amount of carbs as another nut but the nuts differ widely in size.
That's when the scale is handy--but I weigh most things in grams as it's
more precise.

I will always pay attention to carb portions and blood glucose readings.
If I can end the insulin, I'll drop the check I do just before I do the
insulin (doctor says it's not required anyway) and just go with the
morning one.

It was encouraging but I still think it might be best for them to look
into the assisted living. I'd be a lot less worried if they were in a
place where help is right there and Dad wouldn't feel he had to do
everything.

Unfortunately, it's not possible as she helps out several families in
the community in the same capacity. She does light housework, some
cooking, keeps Mom company........................
