Hi Janis,

>> > Wouldn't be surprised to find it in Ithaca, seems like a rather
>> > ecclectic town with the school there.

>> Yes, it is eclectic at that (grin).. I tell people when I shop there
>> it's like going back to the late 60's.. great clothes, etc. and food.

JK> > Sounds like it would be a fun place to explore. There's a vintage
 JK> shop

JK> Yes, it is. It seems everytime we go into "town", there's something
JK> there we hadn't noticed earlier.

Not surprising with moving to a new place. There's still lots of Raleigh
we've not explored, and probably a good bit of Wake Forest. But, we've
found lots of good places to eat. (G)

JK> wouldn't > have minded stopping but we wanted to get over to Raleigh
JK> (Whole Foods) > and home in time for Steve to get some school work
JK> done before we went > out for church.

JK> It sounds like an interesting place, let me know if you get the chance
JK> to stop in there :)

Slim chance, depends on how much longer we stay in the area after Steve
graduates. I'm not due for any appointments over there until May but if
we're moving, I may try to see the pulmonology doctor before we go.

>> They include Goat Curry, Goat Vindaloo, Goat Saagwala, Karahi Goat,
>> and more .. I might look them up :)

JK> > I'd go with the curry as first choice. Vindaloo might be too hot and
JK> I'm > not sure what the latter 2 dishes are--need to look them up.

JK> Understand, though I like spicy Indian food..

This can be "blow your doors off" spicy as I understand. (G)

JK> > We have so much fresh rosemary in the side "flower bed" that we
JK> could > supply the town. I see it growing in pots here & there in town

JK> I should start one.. I did in Windsor, but hadn't here yet. Spring
JK> seems far away right now, but I know it's not :)

It'll be here before you know it.

>> Understand that one, but I always loved church dinners.. so many great
>> cooks seem to be around.

JK> > Very true there. It's your own fault if you go away hungry at most
 JK> any > of them.

 JK> Indeed :) :)

And you always find something new to try--and maybe get the recipe for.

JK> > We don't buy that much candy over all, usually chocolate tho, and
JK> > usually the non major American brands. We do have some Halloween,
JK> 2011 > Milky Way minis in the freezer.

JK> Interesting :) Not sure I've seen those.

Regular Milky Way minis we'd bought for trick or treaters but didn't
have that many kids that year. Our first 3 years we had less than 30 per
year; this year we had 60.

>> source for them. I don't know whether Aldi's would be or not, haven't
>> been able to see their ingredients listed, but then I need more coffee
>> this morning (vbg).

JK> > We like their dark chocolate bars, have some on hand, as well as
JK> part of > a Ritter Sport dark with mint creme filling and some Trader
 JK> Joe's dark > wedges.

 JK> I don't think Ithaca has a trader joe's but I could be wrong there :)

They're slowly spreading east. When we were in HI, every time we went to
AZ we'd hit them up.

>> the team > had no problems clearing customs, rechecking bags and going
>> thru
>> > security at JFK yesterday.

>> That is so good to hear.

JK> > He didn't check any bags but they made him check his carry on going
JK> down > to Guyana. The plane wasn't that full and when he reclaimed it,
JK> he found > it had been opened and riffled thru. All valuables
JK> (computer, etc) and > medications were in his backpack tho.

JK> Seems so silly.. but I guess there will be no end to this kind of
JK> searching through travel bags, etc.

Yes, especially in countries where the law enforcement in something like
that is less than top notch.............
