I didn't hide out at the Gold Range after all but helped hand out
the loot here at home.

I'd have to really like it before I ordered a case. Kevin tells me
it is available at the other of our two liquor stores and highly
recommends it as well.

On subsequent trips, if I had clients, we ate Canadian or Chinese
off the menu, I got a bill and I tipped on it. But if I came alone
we ate Tibetan, Indian, or better Chinese and he refused payment so
I got into the habit of bringing a bottle of brandy (his favourite
tipple, not mine) with me. We often spent evenings playing chess and
drinking if the restaurant wasn't too busy. He thought that the
bottle had to be finished that same night; luckily his wife helped
us do that. Also luckily my hotel room was walking distance from the
restaurant.

Back to my Thai collection, hoping I don't overlap Dale too much:

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Bangkok Pork
 Categories: Pork, Thai-ish
      Yield: 4 Servings

    FOR PORK CHOPS:
      4    Lean center-cut loin pork
           Chops; (1/2-inch thick)
      1 tb Low-sodium soy sauce
    1/3 c  Thai Seasoning
    Vegetable cooking spray
    FOR THAI SEASONING:
     18    Low-sodium sesame-flavored
    Melba toasts
      1 tb Garlic powder
      1 tb Ground ginger
      1 ts Sugar
    1/2 ts Ground red pepper

  FOR PORK CHOPS: Trim fat from pork chops, and brush pork with soy
  sauce. Place 1/3 cup Thai Seasoning in a large zip-top heavy-duty
  plastic bag. Add chops; seal bag, and shake to coat. Place chops
  on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray; bake at 450 degrees
  for 15 minutes or until chops are done.

  FOR THAI SEASONING: Place Melba toasts in food processor, and
  process until finely crushed. Combine crushed Melba toasts and
  remaining ingredients in a zip-top heavy duty plastic bag; seal
  bag, and shake well. Store tightly sealed; shake well before each
  use. Use as a coating mix for pork or poultry.

  Yield: 1 cup
