He's kept me out of serious trouble with the computer for some years
now.  The only time I was without Fido for several months was when he
was in Korea & lightning hit the building where the guy we pointed from
lived.  He had no surge suprssors, UPS's, etc & got fried.  Took me a
bit of time to find that out, then get up with an alternate source who
got me going again.  if Steve had been home, he probably would have
found out within a couple of days where the problem was & gotten it
resolved.

I suspect it's probably late summer/early fall.  Yes, some hunters do
use calls to lure deer but I don't know how effective they are

For years my mom used her dutch oven; I don't recall what the one she
had before she inherited her Revere Ware was made of.  Now she has both
the Revere Ware one and a cast iron one.  But, I don't think she's made
sauerbraten since that one attempt, sticking to the less fancy cooking
she's more comfortable with.

The idea of using sour cream looks good; I'd have to sub for the red
wine tho.  I do use the red wine vinegar as there's no alcohol in it.
The spicing looks a lot like what I use but I marinade it longer.
