Apparently there was a countdown time, maybe half an hour
before the ceremony, and when he didn't show up, a call was
made, and he was discovered to be taking his good time about
things but was convinced to hustle on over, so he showed up
maybe half an hour after zero hour, not too bad considering.

There was a certain amount of improvisation, though even
with additional wraps a certain amount of chilliness was
felt by the young and robust wedding party (Roslind had
provided a blue scarf thing (borrowed, blue, old) for the
maid of honor and fussed maternally about how she should
have brought something for all the rest as well).

Maybe, though the sniffles were minor and of short duration.

It won't freeze and fall off unless one falls down in the
snow in the process.

Even then, not to mention now, technology was unforgiving.
I'm sure in this case all the unease and anxiety were well
documented. The mother of the bride was most put off,
asking where the groom was to all and sundry (even me, who
had been just introduced at the event); she hypothesized
that he was taking a tot of the hard stuff with the builder
of the castle (who was, I told her, several sheets to the
wind by this time) and said that she would kill him (the
groom) if he was drunk. Later, he turned up quite sober with
cellphone glued to his ear, and some time later, the best
man showed up and all was well.

I'm not sure I'd have stayed late even were I quite a bit
younger, but they seemed to be having fun, and we were
quite satisfied with our somewhat abbreviated revels.

I don't think breakfast is justified unless you're working
heavy labor afterward. Even pork products suffer from being
served before noon.

There are other ways of rendering bacon less palatable -

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.01

      Title: Filled Mini Cucumbers
 Categories: Cyberealm, Main dish, Vegetables, Ethnic
      Yield: 4 servings

  3 1/2 oz Corn,Fresh
      1 ts Instant Broth
      5 oz Bacon
      2    Onions
      8    Mini Cucumbers
      6 oz Edamer Cheese
      1 tb Parsley, chopped finely
      1    Egg
           Salt, Pepper
      2 tb Sweet Cream

  1. Cook the fresh corn in the broth untill done,take of the cobs.
  2. Cube the bacon and with the onion saute untill glassy, cool.
  3. Wash mini cucumbers and cut off the ends, cut off a small lid and
  with a teaspoon scoop out the insides. Cube the lid and the insides
  small. 4. Drain the corn, save the broth, and mix together with the
  cheese, herbs,egg and seasons.
  5. Fill the cucumbers and put into a ovenproof form;arrange what does
  not fit into cucumbers between them in the form.
  6. Mix the broth with the cream and pour over cucumbers.
  7. Cover and bake in 200C for 30 minutes.
  8. Serve with parsley potatoes.
