Oh, yeah. In my lifetime we have had some true musical geniuses appear - even
if they weren't all in the Euro-classical style. Quincy Jones, Duke Ellington,
Raymond Charles Robinson, Leonard Bernstein, Steven Sondheim, etc.

Although the light opera of Lenny and the Guys on their re-working of Billy
Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is an American classic. And some of the
instrumental pieces that came out of there are among my favourites - notably
Symphonic Dances. But, I've always enjoyed the war horses.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: West Side Cafe Pork Chop & Potato Casserole
 Categories: Five, Pork, Potatoes, Soups
      Yield: 4 servings

      4    (6 oz ea) pork chops
      4 lg Baking potatoes; peeled,
           - sliced
 10 3/4 oz Can condensed cream of
           - mushroom soup

  In a large skillet, brown pork chops with a little oil
  over medium-high heat. An electric skillet can also be
  used.

  Add potatoes and condensed soup. Do not dilute soup. Cover
  and cook for 45 minutes, or until potatoes and chops are
  fully cooked.

  Serves four with sides
