My best seems to be long hours of activity (maybe 15-20 at a time)
followed by a long slump (maybe 10-12 hours). Maintaining the
regular 8-8-8 bores me horribly. And when I eat the normal diet,
I get sick, invariably.

I ate three oatmeal cookies the other day, does that count?

Mostly - the available foods have alas been high-starch,
bad for me in every sense. For me, if I eat high-protein
and high-fat, I feel generally better and stabilize just
over 165.  A normal diet gets me to the 170-175 range.
A starchy diet would probably kill me if I stuck with it.

One of the good things about not spending much time at
Daniels St. is that starch is the general order of the day;
maybe I left just in time, before the damage was done. Or
maybe not.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.02

      Title: Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies
 Categories: Cookies, Kooknet, Cyberealm
      Yield: 36 cookies

  1 1/2 c  Sifted all-purpose flour
      1 ts Soda
      1 ts Salt
  1 1/2 ts Cinnamon
    1/2 ts Nutmeg
    3/4 c  Shortening; soft
    1/2 c  Granulated sugar
      1 c  Brown sugar, firmly packed
      2    Eggs
    1/4 c  Milk
      3 c  Quaker Oats, uncooked
           -- (quick or old-fashioned)
      1 c  Raisins

  Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices into bowl.  Add shortening,
  sugars, eggs and milk.  Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.  Stir in
  oats and raisins.  Chill dough about 1 hour.

  Roll out on lightly floured board or canvas to 1/4-inch thickness.
  Cut with floured 3-inch round cutter.  Place on greased cooky sheets;
  sprinkle lightly with sugar.  Bake in preheated moderate oven (375
  degrees F.) 12 to 15 minutes.
