Sometimes crushed bay or powdered rosemary, a little sage, a
little thyme, a little onion powder, some parsley, lots of pepper,
and tons of salt.

With Chinese food, I have no problem, as odd textures are
sort of expected in some settings.

How often is this done, and where? 

Layered mango dessert
cat: airline, Hawaii, mucusy
yield: 18 to 24 servings

Crust
2 c flour
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 1/2 blocks butter
Filling 1
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 c sugar
8 oz whipped topping
1 ts vanilla
Filling 2
2 Tb Knox gelatin
1 c water
3/4 c sugar
1 c boiling water
4 Tb lemon juice
5 c diced mangoes

Crust. Preheat oven to 350F. Combine flour and sugar.
Cut in butter and press into 9x13" pan. Bake 25 or
till crust is golden brown. Cool.

Filling 1. Beat cream cheese with 1/2 c sugar. Fold
in whipped topping and vanilla. Spread over cooled
crust. Chill till firm.

Filling 2. Soften gelatin in water. Add boiling water and
3/4 c sugar. Stir till gelatin dissolves. Add lemon juice
and mangoes. Refrigerate till semi-gelled. Spoon over
cream cheese layer. Chill till firm.
