There remains the fact that even cheap beer tastes better
than powdered milk or koolaid.

Good stuff - I think that it's been sweetened or otherwise
altered since our youth, though.

It's good to have a doctor who isn't so lockstep and realizes
either that there are individual variations or that a hard-line
control-freak isn't going to be listened to, or both.

 He also said that everybody's system tends to be

I always suspected that a lot of the rules - including the
ones about cholesterol (which I don't have to pay much
attention to) and about salt (which I do) - are maybe
60-40 things, and they were codified by people who would
prefer to be sued 1/3 less of the time. A wise course might
be to take each case on its own merits and get sued close
to 0% of the time, but the overall rate of litigation,
appalling though it must be, isn't enough to justify the
additional patient-physician interaction time that such a
course would require.

FILETTI DI SOGLIOLA AL COGNAC
cat: Italian, fish, booze
Serves: 4

8 sole fillets, about 150 g (5 oz) each
flour
250 g scampi; cleaned and prepared
butter
Cognac
cream sauce
250 g sliced mushrooms sauteed in garlic and oil

Flour the fillets and brown them in the butter along with the
scampi. Flame with Cognac. Add sauce to cover and the mushrooms.
Let cook for several min until the sauce looks ready.
