Both of my Popeyes and all the ones I have patronised when away have 
been good, with none of the problems you mention. The worst that has 
happened to me here is getting regular chicken when I had ordered spicy.
And that's only happened once. It is also how I discovered that Popeyes 
regular (non-spicy) chicken is pretty good - since it is the first time 
I had ever tried it. Still prefer the bite-you-back of the spicy, 
though.

I used to run a burger-snatcher (when I was _MUCH_ younger). So, I know 
of the attitudes of which you speak. We had mostly an all male crew. 
But, they were all posturing and trying to impress the young nubiles who
would appear in giggling gaggles to buy burgers, hot dogs and drinks.

We served broiled burgers locally long before Burger Whop ever came to 
town. And, quite frankly, for a regular burger, Sandy's (forerunner to 
Hardee's), Burger Chef and McDonald's grilled burgers were tastier.

It's only when you get into the Whopper-sized patties that the broiler 
begins to shine. And Hardee's has Burger Whop beat hollow at that game.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Popeye's Swee'pea Soup w/Olive Oyl
 Categories: Soups, Greens, Vegetables
      Yield: 6 servings

     10 c  Water
      3 tb Olive oil
  3 1/4 c  (1 1/2 lb) dried green split
           - peas
      1 lg Red onion; diced
    1/2 lb Diced yam, unpeeled
      3 lg Ribs celery; chopped with 
           - fine chopped leaves
      1 lb Fresh spinach; fine chopped
      2 lg Cloves garlic; pressed or
           - minced
      2 ts Crumbled basil leaf
      2 c  Shelled fresh peas
           +=OR=+
     10 oz Pkg frozen peas; thawed
      3 tb Tamari
      3 tb Light molasses; not
           - blackstrap
      2 ts SPIKE; to taste
 
  In 6 or 8 qt. pot bring water, oil, split peas, onion, yam,
  and celery to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered about
  30 min. Add spinach, garlic and basil. Bring to boil again.
  Reduce heat and simmer 25-35 min.
   
  Note: This is said to contain all of Popeye's favorites -
  sweet peas, yams ("I yam what I yam"), olive oil and of
  course spinach.
