=================
Hi Sean,

RH> If you're interested, I'll hunt down the information we got with the
 RH> machine.

SD> I'll more than likely just go "cold turkey". I really should drink a
SD> /lot/ more water than I do; I have always been one who didn't drink a
SD> lot of water. Maybe once I start working, I'll get a reverse osmosis
SD> machine and put it in. The city water here is really over-chlorinated

We have a Culligan filter on the kitchen sink now. It replaced different
brand (forget what it was) that went belly up a few months after we
moved up to WF. We also snagged my parent's Pur system as they had a lot
of problems with it. I think the main problem was my mom running hot
water thru it, which the unit wasn't able to take, and would crack. They
didn't put in a replacement to the replacement so we brought it home, as
well as some filters, to use when the Culligan system quits.

SD> and it stinks even coming out of the tap. If I drink straight tap

That's pretty much a description of the water up here. Actually, Steve
says it has an algae taste. I can drink small amounts of it from the tap
but for a bigger drink, I use the filtered water. I also use it for
cooking and making tea, milk & juice.

SD> water here, it makes me nauseous, so while I have a Brita pitcher
SD> currently, I'd like to have something with less hassle. :)

Ours isn't quite that bad. We had a Brita pitcher in Frankfurt before we
got a distiller. The Brita had a problem keeping up with our family's
useage; the distiller would do a gallon at a time (over several hours).
Plus, we didn't have to to hunt for, and buy the expensive replacement
filters for the Brita. The frankfurt water was bad but Berlin was even
worse--it had a high sulpher content. I could peel thin sheets of it off
the distiller walls.

RH> Your brain is a lot younger than ours, still more flexible. It's been
RH> a struggle but we're both hanging in there. I should finish my program
RH> in May of 2012, Steve will finish either in December of that year or
RH> May of the next one. After that, we've no idea where we'll end up.

SD> My advisor told me that the years of computer programming that I've
SD> done (I write my own BBS doors and utilities) probably have helped me
SD> a lot by keeping the "logic" side of my brain active. Luckily, with
SD> this degree, the only math classes I have to worry about are
SD> "elementary and advanced" algebra then the infamous "problems and
SD> statistics". I'll use the stats class much more in geology than
 SD> algebra.

Sounds good. I guess keeping up with "Jeopardy", reading, and things
like that have kept our brains from totally rusting. I'm not as
logically oriented as Steve is but he's not as artistically oriented
than I am. Together we balance each other. (G)

SD> After I get my bachelor's, depending on what I want to do, I'd like to
SD> either get my master's in geography or library and information
SD> science. I haven't really thought that far ahead! I'm hoping to just
SD> muddle through to get my bachelor's. ;)

Not going to try for your own gourmet restaurant & parlay that into a
show on The Food Network?

RH> Sounds interesting; hope it went well.

SD> It did! I now have a "face-to-face" interview on Wednesday the 23rd
 SD> at 11 AM.

SD> If I got this job, it would be a real "game changer" for me and Maura.
SD> Also, with the hours I'd be working, I could still work full-time and
 SD> go to school full-time.

It sounds like a good opportunity if it works out. Would the company pay
for your education?

RH> That has 2 strikes against it, just in the title.

 SD> There's a reason I picked that particular recipe. ;)

Got to be some kind of logic, other than to get my reaction. (G)

SD> Today is a beautiful day and the first day of 2011 that I decided to
SD> put on a pair of shorts. So in honor of the weather and tomorrow
SD> being the first day of spring (I'm thinking of cleaning up the grill):

Kitties enjoying the warmer weather also?

 SD> Title: Lemon-Pepper Barbecued Chicken
 SD> Categories: Bbq, Ceideburg, Chicken
 SD> Yield: 1 Servings

A long list but it looks like it would be worth it in the end.

Catch you later,
