Once again - it was taken from Peru to the rest of the world. This time 
by Jesuit missionaries, hence its other name "Jesuits Bark".

Peru is/was the source of many things we take for granted today - 
potatoes, tomatoes, chilies, etc.

And let's not get into their advanced maths and astronomy, pyramids, 
etc. Fringe theorists and nut jobs (Erich von Daniken, anyone?) have 
speculated about that quite sufficiently.

      Title: Vodka & Tonic
 Categories: Five, Beverages, Booze, Citrus
      Yield: 1 shooter

      2 oz Vodka
      4 oz Tonic water; carbonated
      1    Lime wedge

  Pour vodka into a highball glass over ice. Fill with tonic
  water, squeeze lime wedge into the glass, stir, and serve.

  Garnish with a twist of lime peel or a small, thin wedge
  of lime.
