What I was actually implying is I'd like to see more Mexican or at
least Tex-Mex food on more menus.

But yes we do have a shortage of restaurant workers. It takes a long
time and much failed advertizing before the government will admit
that a restaurant needs staff and approve foreign work permits but
eventually they do. Our Tim Hortons and McDonalds have been
recruiting in the Philippines for at least three years now. Local
kids turn their noses up at a mere $11 per hour but Filipinos think
$11 plus one economy return airfare per year is great.

      Title: Hot Cucumbers Phreelee
 Categories: Korean, Pickles, Relishes
      Yield: 1 Servings
 
      3    Cucumbers
      5    Chopped green onions
      4 lg Cloves of garlic
           Sesame oil
    1/4 c  Soy sauce
    1/4 c  White vinegar
      1 ts Korean chile powder
 
  Slice ends off the cucumbers and rub against the ends to get the
  bitterness out. (A white frothy paste will form). Peel cucumbers
  and slice in about 1/8th inch slices. Add finely chopped garlic
  and green onions.

  Add approximately 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1/4 cup white vinegar with
  1 tablespoon sesame oil. Add 1/4 teaspoons chile powder at a time
  and add more for taste. Marinate, chill and serve. Recipe can be
  doubled easily.
