I got out of the habit of having the radio on when we moved out of NC 31
years ago. Probably wouldn't hurt to get back into it but we've got 2
chiming clocks and a cuckoo for ambiant noise. I do use a white noise
alarm clock/radio at night tho; it covers up a lot of sounds that would
otherwise keep me awake.

Yes, 2 lanes each way. This past December they were rolling parking lots
headed south the Saturday before Christmas. It wasn't until we got into
GA that we were actually able to make decent travel time. Between
Christmas and New Year's, on our way north, we saw a lot more traffic
headed south.
