I think I might have been at one of these in BTR when I was
visiting a friend from RIME Cuisine. Not impressed, though I
admit keeping cleanliness in that climate is an almost
insuperable task.

We had a little weaselly-looking kid in our college dorm who
was named Libby and was rumored to be an heir of that company.
Everyone hated him, though he was only marginally more obnoxious
than the rest of us. There was a girl somewhat younger than us
who was pretty dominant - bright, lively, interesting, a member
of an exiled noble family -, who took an extreme dislike to him
when he apparently tried to seduce her and then, failing that,
succeeded in doing so with her roommate (and the RA, and various
other women, etc., etc., leaving the odor of heartbreak and/or
disgust everywhere). At one point this girl, a born administrator,
began a harassment campaign against him, which I, I am not proud
to say, was an enthusiastic participant and the technical advisor.
He's now the president of a rather famous insurance firm; she is
a department head in a medical school. I am in touch with neither.

One of the mean things that the girls used to do was sing that
jingle in front of his door, with the words Nancy quotes.

There isn't such a thing as a good canned vegetable. But some
bad canned vegetables are much worse than others. Protein foods
can can nicely, though.

Oeufs Offenbach
categories: brunch, eggs, fish/sea
servings: 6

2 lg tomatoes, peeled and seeded
2 Tb butter
12 eggs, scrambled
3 anchovy fillets, minced
3 oz tuna, flaked
6 sl buttered toast
12 md shrimp, cooked and peeled
2 Tb minced parsley

Cut six 1/4" slices from tomatoes. Dice remainder.
In a 9" skillet, saute the tomato slices in the
butter until heated through.

When eggs are almost set, stir in the anchovies and
tuna fish. Place toast on hot plates and put a tomato
slice on top. Spoon eggs over tomatoes and garnish
with the shrimp, diced tomatoes, and parsley.
