Skewed in a particular direction anyhow. I rather
liked Dave the Sac's "Grail list" for odd things -
insects get one listing, but there are weirder
things that don't get mentioned elsewhere, such as
canned pork brains, canned cheeseburgers, and the
aforementioned Blind Robins.

As opposed to Bourdain eating charred warthog 
bungs, another kind of grossout factor (I've
eaten bungs, but not in the uncleaned state
as depicted in the TV show).

Last night my mixed salad had a slice of cucumber
(not a real grossout, just slightly unpleasant) and
a slice of zucchini; this latter had nice grill
marks, and I debated actually eating it, but then I
flipped it over, and the reverse was raw and without
grill marks, so it found its bed on the refuse pile
next to the cucumber.

Perhaps I'll feel bored someday and not wait for the
next echo picnic. But at the picnic we could actually
make marshmallows and play with some in the microwave
and keep some around until the last day of the picnic,
then divide up the remainder and have each person age
them further under different conditions - someone in
the fridge, someone in the freezer, someone at room
temperature.

In a good way, perhaps, I thought. Though I have eaten
lung, it was stewed and collapsed and not very 
interesting; I admit that I've not eaten much of the
stuff at a time.

This seemed to be more a sangrita, which has a
tomato base. The etymologies both stem from the
Spanish word for blood.

More money than sense ... .

Oliveto
category: booze, odd
servings: 1

60 ml dry gin
25 ml lemon juice
12 ml simple syrup
12 ml Licor 43
1 egg white
15 ml olive oil

Combine all ingredients except ice, and shake hard 
to emulsify the egg white and olive oil. Add ice cubes, 
shake hard for 20 sec, and strain into a chilled glass.
