Ärende: Nuts!
=============
Hi Ruth,

>> (sometimes he'll eat the veggies served though). My mom told me years
>> ago that Grandpa and Uncle Ralph were the the same way... Uncle Ralph
>> used to hold up the chicken piece to the light to see how much fat was
>> in that piece. That always cracked me up since I love chicken.

> I think I'd crack up too, if I saw it. Sounds like a quirky family trait
> that's now into a 3rd generation.

Sure does though not sure how quirky it is (g) I guess they just didn't like
fatty meats at all.

>> geez, she didn't drink coffee or tea much come to think of it, except
>> for that small amount of coffee in the morning. I generally drink

> Sounds like my MIL, she only has about half a cup of coffee in the
> morning.

Mom never like coffee much I think.

>> maybe two or three cups of coffee during the day.. sometimes I'll have
>> a cup of tea later in the evening.

> I'll start the day with hot tea. Sometimes I'll have a 2nd cup in cold
> weather, iced tea in hot weather. Usually tho, I avoid caffiene after
> about 7 pm.

If I'm really tired at night and still have work to do, I'll have a cup of
coffee as long as it's before 9pm.. after that it bothers my sleeping.

>> I guess part of our drinking tea with nothing in it is because we just
>> like the taste of the tea. Then too, there's the general problem with
>> "sugary" additions that we both just have no taste for..

> I need a bit of sweetening, but have cut back quite a bit from what I
> used to put in.

I can understand that.

>> We find them at Wegman's generally, in their tea section. I don't
>> think we've ever been to a tea specialty shop.

> We went to a specialty tea shop once when we were in Germany, trying to
> (and did) find something close to what we'd bought in Switzerland. It's
> been years since we had any of that so we decided to try to find some
> again; we think we were successful again. It's a very fruity tasting
> tea.

That sounds like a nice one.

>> > We'll be up in NY in October.....................

>> Yep, maybe you can swing by here.

> We can try, have to co-ordinate as time gets closer.

Understand.. life gets crazy here sometimes as well. This week my daughter's
son leaves for college (I'm still in shock over that (g)) so we'll be keeping
his younger brothers over here while my daughter works and gets him set up.

> ever JK> get our own JK> > place, I'm going to get slide outs.

>> Believe me, slide-outs make it about impossible to store a whole lot
>> :)

> I think it depends on what's being stored. Maybe a mix of slide outs and
> conventional cabinets would work.

Yes, over here it would have worked better if some of the lower cabinets were
conventional cabinets.

>> It's still impractical for me (and belive me she had all sorts of
>> variations of height, etc.) because you can only fit one large toy on
>> a slide out.. Maybe over here it's a matter of the number of cabinets,
>> I'm not sure :):)

> I'd have to play around with a configuration to fit my (as of now,
> hypothetical) kitchen.

Yep, that's the fun for sure. You know what sizes and heights, etc. you need.

Take care,
Janis
