Japanese is more difficult to learn than English or German. Well, it's another
culture. An oriental culture. But well, I knew a girl, a photo model, who lived
in Russia but worked in Japan, she said that when she'd worked in Japan the
first time, she learnt the [basic] Japaneese actually without much effort, at
least it was much easier than sitting here later in Russia with teaching books,
that's what she said... Of course, I have no idea how deep here Japanese
knowledge is, but she said she'd learnt to express the basic ideas easily. I
also knew a guy who learnt Chinese. It was something! Looks like one should be
a genius to know Chinese with all its hieroglyphs perfectly. I noticed that the
Chinese hieroglyphs are more sophisticated than the Japanese ones, I often
wonder where people get so much patience to draw them so accurately :)

I Hwas suprised at how much I knew once I set my mind to it.

Yeah, people say once you learnt & forgot a language, it's easy to refresh it
in memory when you really start using it again. The thing is that some people
will never start refreshing it because they don't need it. I remember how much
stuff teachers put inside my head in school and I wonder what it was for, for
example I never needed to caclulate logarithms in everyday life and I hope I'll
never need to :)
