Hello again Alexander...

AK> And the name Stalingrad (the city of Stalin) was highly important. I
AK> strongly believe that if the name fo the city had been another the
AK> soviet army could not have held it in its hands. The same is true when
AK> we are speaking about defence of Leningrad (the city of Lenin).

Didn't they change the names of the citys back to their original
names after the USSR collapsed, and RUSSIA emerged as RUSSIA ?

Anyhow, those citys mean something to the people of that period
the same as they mean now. I saw some of the restoration done
in St. Petersburg. What a lovely city! It would mean the same
for anyone's capital citys. It is a point of moral boosting and
pride.

AK> Not everyone thinks as you do. For example many people in so called
AK> democratic Estonia are eager to destroy memorials to Soviet Soldier as
AK> a liberator from fascist Germany. The company of hatred has been
AK> unleashed by nationalistic majority of Estonian parlament against
 AK> memorials.

It was a cause then, and bitter, but...and no matter what side you
stand on, war graves of soldiers, are never touched, or their
memorials. In France as example, and perhaps elsewhere... soldiers
graves are treated with respect. I know hard , as they might have
been the enemy, or they occupied the country....but it is common
practice. Estonia is but one of the three Baltic states, and
it is sad to hear this, that graves or memorials stand in the way
of their national progress. Perhaps, they feel revenge is the
better way, but it will only bring worldwide scorn for this action.

Have nationalism... but not at the expense of memorials to these
men and women, that had their youth taken from them, far away
from their loved ones, in this foreign place. Perhaps if they
are so inclined, they should ask Russia to come and take them home?
I have no idea how to solve this, but I know that even after a war
200 years ago, the USA comes to collect the remains of soldiers
from that conflict.

AK> Some, certainly, would have it good with Hitler, for example all
AK> Baltic states, all Eastern Europe, except slavonic states and etc. But
AK> we must not forget that many nations were considered as inferior and
AK> they would have become a target if Hitler had won the war.

Yes, they did have some nations as puppets, and they were all happy
to have Mr. Hitler and his lads there. Vichy France for one, was
just thrilled to give up.

Yes, there were some consider inferior. I remember well Tito
really took the war to Hitler. Tito supplied himself with German
equipment, and was a example to be respected by all.

 AK> We of course
AK> can imagine poor picture that the US would begin the war in Europe
AK> using atomic boms ... but if Soviet Union had collapsed quickly (as it
AK> must be if it had been a usual state) the US had not enough time to
AK> develope enough bombs. And the US would have become the primary target
AK> as Hitler knew about developing of the atomic weapon in the US.

I have never seen anything about Hitler knowing anything about the
Bomb program in North America. The allies hid the start of the
project in Northern Canada. No agents up there for spying.
The test pile for the bomb while still "HOT" today, is in or near
a US city...and the spent material ended up in an old mine in Ontario
where today it is leaking, and civilians are dieing, and the fish
in the nearby river are HOT. They have tried to keep it quiet,
but everyone knows, and cancer there is quite high, as well some
other telltell signs of Nuclear activity or materials. I think
they've tried to patch it all...but then everywhere there is this
problem...

Hitler also instructed all military units to steer clear of US
units, which was a thorn to the Uboats in the Atlantic.

As for the US using the nukes in Europe, that would have been
in 1944 or 1945 if they wanted this, but there is another debate
why it wasn't done too. Maybe not enough bombs for both places.?
Or perhaps thre was pressure not to use it in Europe due to
many having familys in Europe...and then too, it was coming up
election time, and he would not want that as ammo for his rival.
Despite other issues Mr. Trueman was elected President.

AK> When the organization has the aim of diversions, and small group is
AK> enough to carry it out, it is simply not necessary to coordinate such
AK> an activity. Everybody knows what to do. The only coordination is a
AK> call for example via Al-Jazira TV to strenthen activity for the
AK> particular reason. That's all. Modern weapon is a problem, but as we
 AK> see they have it.

Yes .... one must look to the Resistnace fighters in France. During
the day, civilians toeing the line, obeying orders of the military
yet at night cells of one or more, would co-ordinate with others
unknown and engage the nazis and it worked. They sent lots of info
