  No I did not.  I said Big business contributes to the party they
believe win win an election.  Business and rich people support partys
that favour them, rather then the average citizen.   The platforms
are geared to that. A 1% drop in taxes is a good carrot to offer when
the others don't.   Only rich folks can afford these $ 100.oo dinners
to hear a party leader speak.   Do you think I have that kind of money?

  What ultimately happens, is the citizens, rich, average and poor vote
and at the end of the count we have a winning party and they form
the government.    It seems from history it used to be, but not
so much now.

   Canada , while still a member of the British Commonwealth, did not
follow the lead of the colonys to the south and declare Independence
and fight a war.   We did fight the rich in Canada, that controlled
everything, really in rebellions, and in 1867 Canada was formed, but
only because too many reports reached London to force reform in the
British Empire, which led to peaceful Independence and re-forming
the Empire into a Commonwealth, where at anytime, a member can leave
which some have done.   So  not impossible... even a rebel came
back from exile in the USA to become the Mayor of the City of Toronto.

  When the USSR was created, I agree with you.  That was Big Business
fearing what would happen, as in the 1930s, when in the depression
they protested, and marched and acted as supporters of Communism.
 
  Yes, the western governments controlled by the rich via their 
corporations really did a snow job, but on the other hand, Lenin
until his death tried to show he was no threat, but also didn't
want Stalin to take over.   Lenin's relatives have even stated
that.    As for the arrests ... check in Moscow, for the Memory
Group, as they have KGB files which were released, on the numbers
executed .  This film was produced in Russia by your own people.

I can also appreciate the many spies and saboteurs, we had enough
of them here too.    I also see quite a few also wanting to return
to Communism, which they miss, as their social security chques
disapeared after the USSR died.   It should have been allowed
to go slowly instead of the way it did, as noted too, criminals
and smart businessmen moved in an robbed the state.  But then
that is done all over the place.

   Yes.  I have no doubt given upstanding people running under
that system can make it work.  There are so many examples of
commune communitys running in that manner.   The big threat is
the rich would be restricted from the crazy profits they make
and that reminds me of what Donald Trump said once to a member
of his family, when she was on about sharing the wealth, and
he called it socalism, and then suggested because she had great
marks in school that she share them, and her response was NO
she worked hard for them and missed partys...why share with
someone with low marks who never studys and ...her dad said to
her...Congradulations you're a capitalist.

   USSR was never attacked by the USA.    Iraq was... and well that
is a different circumstance.   As for being besieged, well, that is
one for the rich folks to explain.   Afterall at the Berlin wall
I never saw anyone going east.  After the war, soviet troops were
defecting west.  The west had to round them up and give them back
where they were shot.
